Andrew Handwork, *of Springfield, was found, Friday, [05 Nov 1897] hanging to a fence some distance from his home. He was unmarried, about sixty years old [**about 67 years old] and resided with his brother, S. P. Handwork. No reason can be given for his rash act. Andrew Handwork, who died suddenly last week, was buried yesterday. Many friends assembled to pay their last respects to the deceased, who was born and lived here all his life, never being away from the neighborhood, excepting during the war when he was drafted, at which time he was away for a month, when he procured, a substitute. Samuel Handwork, a brother, is the only remaining one of the family. Mr. Master, pastor of the M.E. Church, at Good Will, conducted the services. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery.
