George William Pike, 80, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007 at Baptist Hospital East, after a long and courageous fight with cancer. He worked for Girdler Catalyst and Malkin Instruments, and later was the owner of Industrial Instrument Services. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Elsie Lawler Pike; seven children, Janet Applegate, (Dave), Connie Eisenback (Stuart), Betty Czerwonka (Rick), Cathy Pike Corey (Bob), Teresa Zeller (Joe), Dottie Gatewood (Phil) and Tom Pike (Gwen); 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers; and four sisters. His funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, 12707 Taylorsville Rd., with burial in Floyds Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Rd. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society.
