Member United States House of Representatives from Casey Co., KY (1836). Brother of US Sen.(Ga.) Freeman Walker, US Sen.(Ala.) John Williams Walker, and US Rep.(KY) David Walker (1820). Born 7th son and twelfth child of Willis (Wm.) and Mary (Randolf) Lewis Walker. He married Mourning CARTER of Va. 10/23/1817 in Pulaski Co.,KY. In 1843 he moved his wife and surviving children to farm northwest of Sedalia, Pettis Co., Missouri. Later he served as Judge of Pettis Co. and was thereafter known as the Honorable James T. Walker. His son James Wm. Walker was elected Missouri State Auditor,State Assessor as well as the Pettis Co. Assessor. James T. and Mourning Walker succumbed to cholera dying within days of each other in June 1858. Father of Polly Lorena Walker (McAninch, Austin Kendrick Walker, Charles William Carter Walker, Elbert Walker, Elizabeth Carter Walker, (Dr.) Frances Jackson Carter, Cyrus Walker, Watt J. Walker, ElizaWalker(Powell), Caroline Clementine Kendrick Walker, Allen Kendrick Walker, James Wm. Walker and two unnamed infants.
