Gail H. Rock, 86, of Clinton, Iowa, died Sunday, Jan. 18, at his home.

Gail H. Rock was born on March 1, 1922 in Canby, Minn., the son of Earle and Lena (Kelso) Rock.

He married Geneva Bliss on December 20, 1942 in Canby, Minn; she died on August 15, 2002.

He was a farmer for many years, was employed with G.E., and ran a filling station in Phoenix.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clinton, and the United Methodist Church in Camp Verde.

He is survived by his children: Earle (Patti) Rock of Clinton, Patricia Schladt of Davenport, Iowa, Perry (Marcia) Rock of Bloomington, Ill., Gail (Mary Ann) Rock, Curtis (Kathy) Rock, and Darrell (Sheila) Rock all of Phoenix, AZ; daughter-in-law Darlene Rock of Phoenix; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, three sisters: Kathleen Smith of Des Moines, Iowa, Eunice (Marshall) Ross of Erie, Ill, and Pearl Chickett of Des Moines, Iowa, and one brother, Ellis (Geraldine) Rock of Why, Ariz.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Paul M. Rock, his parents, two sisters and an infant brother.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 24, in the Camp Verde United Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.

Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church, Clinton or Clinton Genesis Hospice.
