Clayton Raby Pottorff, 84 died at his home at Hampton Friday afternoon at 12:45 o'clock from a complication of diseases. He had been in failing health for several years and was bedfast three weeks.
The deceased was born in Straban township, a son of the late Jacob and Mary Ann (Livingston) Pottorff. He was a member of the Hampton Lutheran church of which he was sexton the last four years. His wife, Mary Ann, died 13 years ago.
Surviving are nine children, Charles E., Ft. Myers, Fla., John W., Waynesboro: William F., Hagerstown; Arthur C., Ft. Pierce, Fla.; Russel B., Mercersburg; Mrs. Dewey Wilhide, Waynesboro; Melvin L., Ft. Pierce, Fla.: Mary and Marian Pottorff both at home; 23 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren: two brothers, I. Wesley, Hanover, and E. M. Pottorff, Carlisle, and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Dundore, York. a number of nephews and nieces also survive.
Funeral services from the late home Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock with further services at the Hampton Lutheran church conducted by the Rev. Elmer Drumm. Interment in Flohr's cemetery. [a misprint of the cemtery name]
