Brenda LaFern Dye Harness, 71 years of age, of Science Hill, Kentucky, departed this life on Friday, July 9th, 2010 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
Brenda was born on October 23rd, 1938 in Vaught Ridge, Kentucky, daughter of Roscoe Dye and Della Godby Dye. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She loved cooking, gardening, and her family, especially all her grandchildren.
Brenda was survived by her husband, Ivan Harness, whom she married on May 19th, 1955 in Somerset, Kentucky; four sons, Eugene (and Lewanne) Harness, Gerald Harness, Norman Harness, and Gary (and Regina) Harness; one daughter, Wanda (and Ben) Garland; nine grandchildren, Kelly Keener, Michelle Yadon, Chris Harness, Jami Harness, Amy Harness, Lori Harness, Kasey Rogers, Tracy Harness, and Shayla Harness; twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charlie Dye and Wayne (and Bridget) Dye; three sisters, Barbara (and Brennis) Mofield, Marie (and Jonah) Warren, and Beulah (and Alvy) Phelps; a brother-in-law, Wymer Wilson; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Della Dye; a son, Dean Harness; a sister, Betty Wilson; and a brother-in-law, Eldon Harness.
Visitations were held on Sunday, July 11th, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 12th, 2010 in the Chapel of the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Reggie Tipton officiating.
Burial followed in the Carter Ridge Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
