She was born in Salt Lick, Ky. to the late Richard and Alice (Purvis) Ferguson.
She married Ralph Cook, Sr. He preceded her in death in May of 1996.
Dorothy was a homemaker, a devoted Christian and enjoyed reading her Bible. She was a member of Calvary Community Church and former Sunday school teacher at Jefferson Christian Church. She was also a former Brownie Scout Leader.
Survivors include children Barry Hauk, Clearwater, Fla., Jacquelyn (Dean) Dawson, Marion, Nancy (Arvil) Burns, Crossville, Ala., Ralph (Connie) Cook Jr., Sweetser, Carolyn (William) Bonge, Dallas, Texas; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by sister Mamie Zabst and two nieces.
Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, with Pastor Bill Sparks officiating. Burial is in Grant Memorial Park, Marion.
Visitation is 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
