ALICE M. WELLS

Alice May Cook, daughter of W. E. and Mary Ann Cook, was born Aug. 31, 1865, in Monroe county, Iowa. She passed from this life at Seattle, Wash., Dec. 26, 1958, at the age of 93 years, three months and 26 days.

She joined the Methodist church at an early age.

She was united in marriage to William F. Wells Aug. 4, 1881. To this union six children were born, five of whom survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one daughter, Lottie A. Wells, two brothers, P. J. Cook and Albert N. Cook and one sister, Lizzie Cook.

She leaves to mourn her death three sisters, Etta Mize, Anthony, Kans.; Rita Iting, Mooreland, Okla.; and Bertha Sibel, Oklahoma City; two brothers, C. C. Cook, Woodston, Kans.; and Walter E. Cook, Wakeeny, Kans.; five children, Leslie W., Stockton, Kans.; Floyd O., Asherville, Kans.; Robert B., Seattle, Wash.; Fred C., Alamo, Calif.; and Lila E. Lonning, Long Beach, Calif.; 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at the Beardsley Funeral Home. The Rev. Martin Keast officiated. Interment was at the Chariton cemetery.
