The seventh of nine children born to John C & Ester (Terry/Terriy) Burris of VA, NC and late of Liberty Twp, Highland Co OH, Joseph died about 1833 in Range, Madison Co OH. He is believed to have been laid to rest on land belonging to the family farm.
Joseph was a Quaker, but on 17 Feb 1798, a process to disown Joseph was completed at the Westfield MM. It appears he decided to leave the Quaker religion as he did not appeal their decision.
Joseph is my 3rd paternal Gr-Grand Uncle.
Notes: In 1771, a portion of Surry Co NC was used to create Stokes Co NC. No marriage record as yet located; however, he was 'disowned as marrying contrary to discipline', so still researching.
