Mary Josephine (Campion) McCarty, age 66, of Cohasset, Minn., died peacefully at home on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009.

Mary Jo was born in 1943 to Anna Marcella and Daniel Campion and grew up in Lakeville, Minn. She was united in marriage to Verl McCarty on Oct. 30, 1965 and they enjoyed 44 years of marriage and family together. Mary Jo lived in Champlin, Minn., for most of her life and worked as a school secretary in the Anoka-Hennepin school district for 22 years. Her happiest and proudest moments in life were as a wife, mother, and grandmother.

Mary Jo and Verl retired and moved to Cohasset, Minn., to enjoy time on Bass Lake in 2002. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2005, and fought hard against it for four years. She is at peace now with Jesus.
