Second child of Hans Hanson Mundalskrea and Kari Andersdatter Skraie Vigoren. Kari was born in Norway and emigrated with her parents and brother Johannes Hanson Mundal to Wisconsin in April 1849. They came to Minnesota in the early 1860s and settled in Saratoga township in Winona County. Their last name was changed from Mundal to Mundahl when they arrived in America.

Kari had 9 sisters and brothers.

Kari married Martin Lee on August 24, 1887 in Arendahl, MN. He brought two daughters to the marriage.

Martin was a painter. He died at the age of 45.

Kari's obituary from St. Charles Press May 20, 1915:

Mrs. Carrie H. Lee was born in Fjaerland, Norway on December 11, 1848 and died at Faribult, Minnesota on May 12, 1915. She was 66 years 5 months and one day old. She was married to Martin Lee on August 24, 1879, he having predeceased her about 20 years ago.

She leaves behind her two stepdaughters and five sisters, Mrs. O.F. (Ingeborg) Mundahl of Fairfax, Mrs. I.(Sarah or Sigrid) Rymerson of South Dakota, Mrs. John (Christina)Dahle of Saratoga, Miss Hannah Mundahl of Saratoga and Mrs. Thor (Hansina or Sina)Pederson of St. Charles. Beside the five sisters living, there were three brothers and three sisters dead making a family of three sons and nine daughters in the Mundahl household.

The deceased was a member of the Lutheran church in her early womanhood but during her last years in St. Charles attended the Congregational Church regularly and supported its claims.

A hardworking, industrious, faithful woman, loved by the whole of her acquaintanceship; honest and truthful, conscientious in all her dealings, respected for her integrity and now rewarded by God with rest for her labors.

Her remains were laid to rest in Hillside cemetery.
