Bobby Duran James, age 74, of Milton, Florida and formerly of Cypress Creek Community in North Carolina left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Saturday, April 23, 2016.

He was born December 11, 1941 in Duplin County, North Carolina and was the son of the late Robert E. and Nolie Caison James. He was also predeceased by his sister, Alene J. Rich of Wallace, NC.

Mr. James proudly serviced his country in the US Navy for 21 years and was a member of Calvery Baptist Church in Florida.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his best friend and wife of 27 years, Barbara Turner James of the home; son, Robert Andrew James of Atlanta, Georgia; step children, Robert N. Olson and wife, Cherylnn of Milton, Florida and Sheila R. Sabogal and husband, Carlos, of Milton, Florida and John C. Olson of Atlanta, Georgia.

Bobby was a devoted husband and caring father who loved his family dearly. He found great joy in the simplest of things, but his greatest joy was spending time with those he loved. Bobby enjoyed farming and being outdoors in God’s beautiful creation as long as his health permitted. Being a man of compassion and kindness, he was always ready to lend a helping hand to neighbors, friends and family. He had a deep, private relationship with God and demonstrated his faith in the way he lived his life. A man of great integrity, Bobby James will surely be missed by all who knew and loved him.
