Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Aledo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Julia was born Jan. 28, 1932, in Mercer County, daughter of Harry and Harriett Beard Dowd. She married John Baldwin on Dec. 30, 1951, in Aledo. He preceded her in death July 19, 1955.
She had been employed as an office administrator before her retirement.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Moline. Julia had been an election judge for many years in Rock Island County and been active in past years with the Rock Island County Historical Society.
Julia was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed family dinners and traveling with her sons and friends. Julia was always willing to pitch in and help her friends with whatever needed to be done.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory and Marilyn Baldwin, Chicago, Brian and Roxanne Baldwin, Clinton, Iowa; grandchildren, John, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Jack; and great-grandchildren, Avari and Gracyn. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; sister, Mary (Dowd) Venable; brothers, John, Robert and Gerald Dowd.
