George Dewey Smith was the husband of Hattie E Loger Smith. He was the father of Sybil, Iola, Iona, and Vivian. His father was William Henry Smith and his mother was Anna Mariah Good Smith. His siblings were: Bessie May, Howard Andrew, Alma Irene, Fred Otto, and Luetta Elizabeth. It is not known how he died leaving such a young family. St. Peter's Lutheran Church records show that a funeral was performed for George in 1928 at the Baker Township Cemetery.
