BRISTOL, Tenn., Sept. 11--Mrs. Bettie Hamilton McMillin, wife of S. D. McMillin, died at her home in Beaver creek, Sunday morning at 7 o'clock, after a protracted illness. She was 65 years of age, and was a daughter of Isaac Cox, who lived near Blountville, and married S. D. McMillin, April 24, 1866. She leaves a sister, Mrs. Davis Ford, and four children, two sons and two daughters, Miss Virginia Belle, another daughter having died some twelve years ago. The surviving children are, Miss Ella McMillin, Mrs. Bettie Whiteaker, and Robert and George McMillin. Mr. McMillin, the surviving husband, is one of the few remaining soldiers of the confederate army and is seventy-three years of age. Mrs. McMillin was a cousin of W. P. Hamilton, of Hotel Hamilton. She was a Christian woman and a devoted wife and mother. The funeral took place at the family home, and the burial followed at Avoca at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The Rev. L. W. Pierce was the minister in charge.
