Bamberg - Wade Stephen Wise, 55, of 115 Cannon St., Bamberg, died Saturday morning, Sept. 20, 2008, at Bamberg County Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, at First Baptist Church in Bamberg, with the Rev. Aubrey Floyd officiating. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg. Mr. Wise was born Dec. 12, 1952, in Orangeburg, a son of the late Walter Julian Wise and the late Helen Wolfe Wise. He was employed by Time Warner Cable for 20 years prior to his illness. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Survivors include wife, Mrs. Ellen Kaye Benton of Bamberg; a son, Wade Benton Wise of the home; a daughter, Helen Carson Wise of the home; two brothers, Walter Julian (Thelma) Wise Jr. of Stockbridge, Ga., and Michael David (Connie) Wise of Orangeburg; a sister, Elizabeth Wise Sommer of Orangeburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the residence, 115 Cannon St., Bamberg, and Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Orangeburg. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, at Thompson Funeral Home in Orangeburg.
