Penny Renee Sorensen, 18, of Pelican Rapids, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls.
She was born Sept. 7, 1985, in Fargo, N.D., the daughter of Dave Sorensen and Lana Kay (Bendewald) Doll. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Ashley, N.D. and was confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids.
She was a senior at Pelican Rapids High School where she was a cheerleader, active in the drama club and speech, and a teacher's aide. She had a special interest in working with the handicapped. She worked at Larry's Supermarket in Pelican Rapids and babysat many children in the community. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Casey; grandfather, Lyle Sorensen; great-grandparents, Ray and Florence Rogers, and Gottfried and Helena Bendewald; and great-grandfather, Erik Kunde.
Visitation: Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 2 p.m., Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids
Clergy: Revs. David Eggebraten and Curtis Tilleraas
Burial: Ringsaker Cemetery, Pelican Rapids
