Vance G. Swenson, 60, of Waco, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010, in New Braunfels. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 12, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West with Monsignor Isidore Rozcki officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday evening at Pecan Grove Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., following the visitation.
Vance was born in Waco, Texas, to Durwood and Gladys (Olson) Swenson. He was a 1968 graduate of University High School and later from McLennan Community College. He worked for Brazos Electric, retiring with many years of service. He was a life long resident of Waco and was very active in local sports as an official.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his daughters, Heaven Epperson and husband, Eric and Laurel Boen and husband, Travis; grandchildren, Tyson Boen, Taylor Grace Boen, and Davis Epperson; and many cousins.
