Funeral services for Mrs. Laura S. Huffman, age 77, a resident of Donley County for almost 50 years, were held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 1977, in Robertson Chapel of Memories, with Rev. Paul Hancock, Christian Minister officiating.
Interment followed in Citizens Cemetery with the arrangements under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Huffman died at 10:55 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 1977, in Hall County Hospital in Memphis. She was born on June 14, 1900 at De Leon, Texas and she was married to the late Coleman Huffman Sr. on June 30, 1918 at De Leon. She came to Donley County from Spur, Texas and had worked as a Rural Mail Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for over 20 years. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include a son, Coleman Huffman, Jr., of El Paso, Texas; four sisters; a brother, and three grandchildren.
Casket bearers were Roy Simmons, Vick Bates, Weldon Bates, J.H. Spier, Jr., Clyde Wilson and Jack Griswold.
