Lucille Smith Dawson of Union Parish LA, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010. She was born April 9, 1920 to Rev. J. Duff Smith and Sallie Turner Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband Garland J. Dawson, her sisters Emma Brantley, Mary Lou Hicks, Estelle Hollis, and Sarah Parsons, her brothers Milas Smith, John Allen Smith, J.D. Smith and James Peyton Smith.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bernice, LA.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to work in her garden, mow the yard and fish.
She is survived by her two children Virginia Marcantel (David) and Fred Dawson (Ann); Her grandchildren Carson Marcantel (Carol), Lee Ann Vincent (David), D'Ann Fimple (Keith) Deborah Kelley (Jay) and Dan Dawson. Great-grand children, Diana and Laura Marcantel, Hannah and Colin Vincent, Leah Grace and Brock Fimple, and Caleb and Sam Kelley, her loving sisters-in-law Frances Smith, Martha McCreary and Foye Smith, and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
