He was born in Florida possibly in Newport, Wakulla County. According to the 1880 census his birth place is listed as Massachusetts. Only the children, Emily and Ella, are listed in the 1855 Ma census as being with Thomas Noyes and Mary Brown Noyes in Newburyport. As a boy he was called Charlie. He was married first to Anna Louise Taylor . After her death he married a Pauline Gassett. He had three children: Charles Albert Jr, Eugenia Louise Noyes [married 1st to Eleazar Foster and second to a Page], and Annie who married a Baker. He lived most of his adult life around Fernandina and Jacksonville, Florida.

Charles A Noyes, 64, died at the family residence, 148 East Second Street, early Sunday morning. Mr Noyes had resided in Jacksonville for the past 13 years. Surviving him are his widow, [and] three [wrong : one surviving] daughter [Mrs E K Foster] [and sisters] Mrs E[lla] C[aroline] Hors[e]y and Miss Emily Noyes of Fernandina [and brother Alonzo B Noyes Jr] Mrs E K Foster of Jacksonville, and a son, [Charles] Albert Noyes, of Brunswick GA. The body, accompanied by his relatives, was forwarded to Fernandina this morning, where the funeral and interment took place. Mr Noyes was a member of Palmetto Camp No 3 W.O.W
