She was a daughter to Howard and Helen (Moyer) Rucker. On Jul 16, 1945, at the home of a country preacher near Catlettsburg, Ky., she married Charles P. Ross, who survives.

Darlene (James) Hollman, St. Marys; a brother, Richard (Jean), Tipp City; a sister, Elsie Mae Michelson, Black River Falls, WI; eight grandchildren, Jim (Julie) Hollman, Todd (Missie) Hollman, Amy (Dave) Griffin, Nicole (Tim) Carpenter, Scott (Stephanie) Ross, Heidi (Kerry) Walls, Ben (Sara) Laux, Travis (Bev Ditmer) Laux; twenty great-grandchildren; four half-sisters, Lucy (Bud Casper) Custer of Banning, CA, Evelyn (Bob) Papenfus, Beavercreek, Nellie (Dick) Parks, La Quinta, CA, and Rosa Lee Sipple, Fernadina Beach, FL; a half-brother, Oliver "Tink" (Lottie) Cumpston, Baltimore, MD.
Deceased are three brothers, Elzie, Woodrow and Cecil Rucker; and her stepfather, Oliver Cumpston Sr.
She was a homemaker. Her work history outside the home began at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Fairborn where she worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" type to assist in the home-front effort of World War II. It was while working there that she met her airplane mechanic future husband. After moving to St. Marys, she later retired as a production employee from the St. Marys Cotton Mill. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her interests and hobbies included flowers, butterflies, crocheting and collecting porcelain dolls.
Funeral rites are at Miller Funeral Home and Cremation Service, St. Marys, with Rev. Ed Bray officiating.
