Enlisted 27 Sept 1862, as a Private in Company D, 128th Ohio Infantry. Died while in service at Johnson's Island, Ohio.
Wife Lydia died while he was in the military and they left a 1 year old daughter Lydia to be cared for by guardians, who applied for and received a pension for her care until she reached the age of 16.
