Frank "Zip" Ellison Sr. died on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at a local hospital.

He was a founding member of Lakeway Baptist Church and served our country during WWII in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; five brothers, Charles, Leslie, Paul, Ches and Theodore.

He is survived by his loving wife, Martha L. Ellison; four sons, Frank,
Jr., Bruce, Robert and Jessie; three daughters, Martha Short, Virginia Sweet and Ellen Collins; 118 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the Hwy. 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. James Dotson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Williamson Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 8, 2010 from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
