Jackie Ray Cunningham, 59, of Lubbock passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006 at University Medical Center. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Resthavens Abbey Chapel. Interment with full military honors will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.

He was born Dec. 1, 1946 in Luling, TX to the late Earl and Alice Wright Cunningham. He was joined in marriage to Frances T. Hadcock, Dec. 6, 1980 in Glendale, Arizona. They enjoyed 25 years together. Jackie was a retired U. S. Air Force veteran receiving various awards and decorations during his years of military service. He served tours in Vietnam, Germany, Spain, and Korea as well as various stateside assignments. He was honorably discharged Nov. 30, 1987 with the rank of Master Sergeant. During his years of retirement he enjoyed coaching various youth athletics including Lubbock Youth Football, Monterey Optimist Basketball and the Lubbock Olympians Track and Field team. He worked for Lockheed Support services at Reese Air Force Base until September 1991.

He leaves behind his wife Fran Cunningham of Lubbock; children, Jackie R. Cunningham, Jr. of Bastrop, TX, Jacqueline M. Cunningham and Michael L. Cunningham of Lubbock; grandchildren, Andrew M. Pollybank and Adyson T. Cunningham of Lubbock; a brother, Earl Cunningham, Jr. of Austin and a sister Earlie B. Kuykendall of Shiner, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Lee R. Cunningham.
