RIDGELAND - Adean Hollis, 87, died March 30, 2010, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Services are Friday at 2 p.m. at the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jeff James officiating. Burial will follow at Furnace Hill. Visitation will be at the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Hollis was born Sept. 19, 1922, in Fayette, Ala., to the late James Marion and Frances Hawkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Hollis; sisters, Eula Robinson, Annie Lee Robbins and Faye Turner; brothers, Olaf Hawkins, Ellie Hawkins and Bill Hawkins. Survivors include son, Philip Hollis, of Brandon; daughters, Janice Dean Whitaker, of Calera, Ala., Sylvia June Bell, of Columbus, and Dona Michel, of Pearl; sister, Elois Kendrick, of El Paso, Texas; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
