Louis Curry 65, of Springfield died at 11:35 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Hospital.

He was born Oct. 19, 1928, in Pascola, Mo., the son of John Wesley and Susie A. Bryant Curry Johnson. He married Helen J. Medley in 1948. Preceding him in death were two sons, David and Daniel; and brother, Wendell Curry .

Mr. Curry retired from Fiatallis in 1984 after 35 years of service. He was commander of Otis B. Duncan American Legion Post for two years and its adjutant for 17 years. He was a member of Masonic Order Central Lodge 3 (Pha), Menelik Consistory 49, Elks Lodge 1160 I.B.P.O.E. of W. and Co. E. Antler Guard Department, 32nd Degree Mason and life member of AMVETS-Edward N. Madden Post 256. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, earning National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Marksman Medal.

Surviving are his wife, Helen; two daughters, Mrs. Brenda Curry Watts and Mrs. Danny (Sue) Robinson, both of Springfield; two sons, Dennis J. Curry of Wheaton and Dwayne S. Curry of Springfield; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Andrew Junior and Emmanuel Johnson, both of St. Louis , Mo., and John Curry of Bloomington; and five sisters, Elouise Wilson and Augusta Scipho, both of St. Louis , Mo., Hattie Medley and Dorothy Curry , both of Springfield, and Toni Haymon of Dyersburg, Tenn.

Services will be at noon Thursday at Capital City Church of God, with the Rev. Shaughneysy Small officiating.
W.W. White-Pettiford Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
