Kathy Kirk, 51 of Red Wing, died Saturday, July 3, 2010 at her home, following a bout of cancer.

She was born March 21, 1959 in Marion, Ohio to James, Sr. and Barbara Kirk. Her family moved to Red Wing in 1971 where she graduated high school in 1977. She worked several years with disabled adults and most recently had worked as a shift leader for Kwik Trip.

Kathy enjoyed gardening and cooking. Throughout the years, she raised horses, dogs and a variety of farm animals. Most important, she loved spending time with her family, her 13 grandchildren and her friends.

She is survived by her 6 children, Greg Tutewohl of Cannon Falls, Nina Kirk of Red Wing, Heather (Jarred) Gordon and Kiersten Stensrud, both of Oklahoma City, OK and Carissa and Ian Bordthauser both of Red Wing; her father, James Kirk, Sr. of Red Wing; siblings, Jim (Vicki) Kirk, Jr. of Red Wing and Karen Kirk of Duluth and 13 grandchildren, Hayden, EmmaRae, Hailey, Nathan, Clara, Gabrielle, Morgen. Olivia, Makenzie, Natalia, Rebecca, Carlos and Adan.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Father Bruce Peterson officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Tutewohl, Chad Curtis, Pete Boisen, Andy Heins, Juilan Fox and Bryan Snyder. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and for an hour prior to the service on Thursday.
