Thomas Paul Williams, 87-year-old Leonard resident, died Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Universal Hospice at Fort Worth.
Surviving are his wife, Mellodean Williams of Bedford; sons, Joe Williams of Hurst and David Williams of Graham; daughters, Paula Williams of Easthampton, Mass. and Velinda Williams Bates of Hurst; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
"Papa" as he was lovingly known by his family, was a fine musician and singer. He loved playing guitar and singing. He often whistled songs to the mockingbirds and enjoyed hearing their calls. He was a soft spoken man, with a great sense of humor. His family meant the world to him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be missed by us all, but within our hearts always.
There will be a memorial service for Paul on Friday July 9, 2010 at 10:30 at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Hurst, TX. We ask that everyone who wants to send flowers please donate instead to the Universal Hospice: 5651 Bridge St. Ft. Worth, TX 76112. Our deep and heartfelt thanks to the hospice workers who made Papa's last days peaceful and comfortable. We cannot thank them enough for caring for us all.
