John Wesley Beacham was a son of George Washington Beacham (1836-1901), a Confederate veteran, and his second wife Nancy Jane Hodgin (1853-1898), of Henderson County, Tenn.

John married Frances Ida Snider (1882-1923) on 16 Feb. 1905. She was a daughter of Lawson Columbus Snider and his wife Emily Jane McClannahan. John & Frances lived at Reagan, Henderson County, Tennessee until about 1920, when they moved to Dunklin County, Missouri. (They show up on the 1920 census in both places.)

John and Frances had at least seven children: Leonard Franklin Beacham (1905-1982), Beatrice A. Beacham (1907-1935, Mrs. Broglin), Nancy Etta Beacham (1908-1922), George Ovid Beacham (1910-2000), Lawson Snider Beacham (1917-1993), Warren G. Beacham (1920-2003) and Norma Jean Beacham (1923-2000, Mrs. Arnold).
