JOHN W. JONES DIES
John Wesley Jones, 74, died at his home in Hurley, Friday.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susan Monteith Jones, two daughters, Mrs. Maud Goff, Wade; Mrs. Gavin Hamilton, Hurley; five sons Honor and Hilliard, Hurley; Bernard, US Army; Dennis, Marines; and Lloyd, Navy; 23 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. W.G. Mizell, Hurley; Mrs. S.E. Hamilton; Hurley; Mrs. Fred Lingerman, Columbia, Miss; brother, Russell Jones, Columbia.
The funeral services were heldSunday afternoon, in the Methodist Church at Hurley, with two Methodist ministers, Rev. Simpson and Rev. Payne officiating.
Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ellis Hamilton, Homer Hamilton, E.G. Mizell, M.E. Everett, O.W. Newman and Norman Lyons.
