It is also believed that his year of birth as recorded on the death certificate (1873) is incorrect and it should have read 1870 as recorded on orphanage records and on the 1875 NYS Census when Albert, sister Lucy, brother Alfred and Mother Margaret resided with Margaret's 2nd husband Nathan Barber.
The death certificate states he was buried 17 Feb 1925 in Oak Hill Cemetery in Ohio.
In July 2010 I was able to research Albert at the Broome County library in Binghamton, NY as I knew from Civil War pension depositions gave at his sister, Lucy's, CW pension hearings, that Albert and Lucy were placed in the Susquehanna Children's home when they were just young children. I was able to find copies of those records and it appears by the date of Albert's first admission to the children's home on 14 Feb 1877, he was recorded as being 6 years old, b. 6 Jan 1871. Suffice it to say we know that Albert was born either in 1870 or 1871, not 1873 as recorded on his death certificate.
