When the picture was taken by Rick Wells in August, 2010, he said the stone has broken off from the base and is leaning against it.
William Chess Wortham was the son of Green Wortham and "Margret" Martha Parthena Elizabeth Mason Wortham (born about 1837 in Tennessee). They had six children: Laura Margaret Wortham Strain, John F., Martha, Lura, Isaac Mace, and William Chess Wortham. John F., Green, William Chess, Laura and Laura's baby girl are all buried here together. Isaac Mace is just down the road. We do not know where the mother is buried. (Sylvia McDonald)
