Eldon Glenn Wilkins, son of Mary Alice Eagar and E. Glenn Wilkins, died one day prior to his 72nd birthday, Sept. 11, 2006 at his Avondale home.

Formerly of Glendale, they made their home in Avondale the past four years. Eldon was born in Eagar in the family home of his grandparents, Lurana Brown and George Eagar. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Southwest Indian Mission, following which he married his high school sweetheart, Melba Greene. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this coming Nov. 16. He is a graduate of Phoenix Union High School and attended two years at Phoenix College.

He is survived by his wife, Melba; sons, Mark, David, and Barry and families, among which are 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sister, Nadine Brimhall; brothers, Virgil and Gary Wilkins.

Funeral services will be held in Avondale Friday, Sept. 15, at the Crystal Gardens Ward, 10930 W. Garden Lakes Parkway. Viewing will be the same day prior to services from 9-10:15 p.m. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 719 N. 27th Avenue in Phoenix.
