Roger served as a Private, Company C, 543rd Engineers Service Battalion, U.S. Army during World War I.

He resided in Laurel, Sussex County, Delaware prior to the war.

When he registered for the draft on June 5, 1917 he was noted as being employed as a basket Maker at the Marvil Packaging Company in Laurel, Delaware.

He shipped out from New York City bound for France on September 18, 1918 on the Rochambeau.

Roger "Died Of Disease" during the war.

Son of Jennie C. Gunby who resided in Laurel, Delaware.
