Seth Thomas Moore, 91, died Dec. 16 at the Hamilton General Hospital. Graveside services were held Dec. 17 at the Oakwood Cemetery. A memorial service was held the same day at First Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin McDonald, Rev. Tim Moody and Michael Graham officiating.

Mr. Moore was born Dec. 29, 1907 in Gatesville, the son of Robert and Allie Moore. He was married to Mabelle Marie Moore in Wichita Falls in 1929. She preceded him in death Sept. 10, 1989.

For the past 56 years he had lived in Hamilton, devoting much time and energy to the community. He owned and operated a rendering plant. He was a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Mr. Moore was a member of the masons, having reached the level of Worshipful Master. He was a member and past president of the Lions Club and a founding member of United Care. He was a member, deacon and past chairman of the board of the First Baptist Church of Hamilton. He was involved in prison ministry and set up the Seth and Mabelle Moore Memorial Scholarship Fund.
His parents; his wife; three sisters and four brothers precede him in death.

Survivors include his son, Seth Moore Jr. and wife Jackie; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Valerie and her husband John Krehmeier and their children, William and Katherine; Brooke and her husband Gary Prichard and their children Kaitlin, Cambry and Avery; Alex Moore and wife Katrina and their children Josh and Zach and a sister, Allie Belle Larsen.

Pallbearers were David Courtney, Spencer Jones, Jerry Munson, Ramon Haile, Roy Rumsey, Grant Lengefeld, Bill Craig, Ollie Olsen, Jacob Jones, Matthew Poteet, David Tanner and Brian Edwards.

Seth Moore Dies at 91

One of Hamilton's best known and revered citizens, Seth Thomas Moore, died Thursday, Dec. 16, at the Hamilton General Hospital at the age of 91.

Moore lived in Hamilton for 56 years. He owned and operated a rendering plant for many years and was affectionately known by his many friends throughout the area as "Stinky."

Moore was always active in the community, but if anything he was even more so after his retirement. He was a founding member of United Care in Hamilton and donated endless hours of work to the organization. He was also a member of the Hamilton Lions Club and a past president, as well as a mason, where he reached the level of Worshipful Master.

He was a member, deacon, and past chairman of the Board of the First Baptist Church of Hamilton.

He was especially supportive of youth activities in Hamilton and created the Seth and Mabelle Moore Memorial Scholarship Fund.

His wife, Mabelle, preceded him in death in 1989.He is survived by a son, Seth Moore, Jr., and his wife, Jackie, and three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
