Amy L. Koresko, 88, of Aledo, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, at Mercer County Hospital, Aledo.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Messiah Lutheran Church, Aledo, with the Rev. David W. Schweppe officiating. Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church or Serenity Hospice.

She was born Oct. 16, 1914, in Aledo, daughter of Theodore L. and Josephine Bjorkman Gustafson. She graduated from Aledo High School in 1931 and married Andrew Koresko Jr. April 26, 1936, in Aledo.

She was formerly employed as a secretary for the Mercer County Home Bureau, Aledo.

Amy was a lifetime member of Messiah Lutheran Church, where she was an organist in 1934 and a member of the Ladies Aid and the WELCA Faith Circle. She was also a member of the Jolly Neighborhood Club.

She enjoyed being with her family and loved music, especially playing her organ at home. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, crocheting, cross-stitch, reading and baking for the holidays.

Survivors include her husband, Andrew; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Hanson, Rock Island, Doris and Tom Swinborn, East Moline, and Donna and Bill Pinger, Keithsburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith Koresko, Salem, Iowa, Philip and Nancy Koresko, Aledo, and Joydene Koresko, Aledo; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruby Allen, Aledo. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald; an infant daughter; a grandson; a sister; a son-in-law; and a daughter-in-law.
