Sikeston - Injured in an accident at the Gmeinhardt grain elevator at Matthews on Wednesday, where he had served as a foreman, Jesse G. Bohannon, 52 years old, died Sunday in the General Hospital here. He suffered injuries when a pulley being used to load an elevator broke loose and struck him in the head.
The body was removed to the Albritton Funeral Home and funeral service will be held Wednesday at the Lutheran Church in Matthews. Interment will be in the Matthews Cemetery.
Born in Tennessee on Feb. 18, 1896 (his tombstone states 1897), Jesse Gilbert Bohannon is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Claudia Dunn and Miss Nedra Lee Bohannon; two sons, Jerry A. and Lowell Bohannon; five sisters, Mrs. Laura Oliver, Mrs. Claudie Henchey, Mrs. Ethel Woods, Mrs. Maude Cox and Mrs. Fannie Jackson; and three brothers, Sam, George and Gladstone Bohannon.
