GENEVA — Veronica J. Green, age 84, of Conneaut, passed away at sunset on Monday, April 5, 2010, at Rae-Ann Skilled Nursing Home, in Geneva, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Sept. 26, 1925, the daughter of Mary and Tony Penko and lived in Conneaut her entire life.
She married John Janco on Oct. 31, 1942, who preceded her in death. In 1977, Veronica married Royce Hoyt Green, who survives her. She is the mother of Jim Janco (deceased), Richard (Amelia) Janco of Madison, Jerry Janco of Conneaut and Judy Wearden of Kent; grandmother of Michelle, Julie, Sheri, Stefanie, Emily, Joe, Chuck, Doug and Jamie; great-grandmother of 15; also surviving are her brothers-in-law, Ted Antolik and Stan Kranyic; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded by her parents; first husband, John; and sisters, Tillie, Mildred and Elsie.
An avid roller-skater, Veronica competed in a number of roller competitions throughout the U.S. She enjoyed her family, cooking, her computer and her pets.
She was retired from GE Bulb Plant. Her energy and enthusiasm for life will be truly missed by her family and friends.
Calling Hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 8th, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m., Friday, April 9th, at the Funeral Home, with the Rev. Franklin Gore, pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be at City Cemetery in Conneaut.
