Funeral service will be held at the graveside Saturday in the family burial plot of the Boggy Depot cemetery for Mrs. Thomas Wallace, 97, El Reno, sister of J. G. Wright, 402 E. Cherokee, McAlester. Mrs. Wallace was eldest daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Allen Wright, Boggy Depot. She was born in 1863 and named Mary Wright. Mrs. Wallace was the third child of the political and religious leader of the old Choctaw Nation. He served as governor of the Choctaws from 1868-1870 and is credited with suggesting the name Oklahoma, which later became the name of the state. In addition to her McAlester brother, who retired a few years ago from the Indian service and recently celebrated his 83rd birthday, although in the hospital at the time, Mrs. Wallace had a sister, Mrs. Clara E. Richards, San Antonio, TX.
