He was probably named, middle name, for his grandfather, Rezin Davis Sr. William was the 1st of at least nine children: William Rezin (1831), John Wesley (1834), Nancy Elizabeth (1837), Comfort (Unk-1841), Sarah Ann (1841), Francis Marion (1844), Mary Sophia (1846), Judith V. (1848) and Martha Susan (1851).
On May 12, 1853 he married Mary Ann Sanders in Adair county and they had six children: James Frazier (1854), Mary Wilmoth Jane (1855), John William Allen (1856), Ransom Cornelius (1858), Riley J. (1860) and Rezin Barnett (1863). Mary Ann Sanders Davis died on May 2, 1863.
William remarried to Mary Ann Bell on September 20, 1864 and they had two children, Florinda F. "Fanny" (1865) and Nancy C. (1867).
William and his family lived in Adair county, KY until after 1870 and then moved to Kansas. In 1880, William and his wife were living in Bennington, Ottawa county, KS where he was a farm laborer. Sometime after 1885 they moved to Seneca, Newton county, MO, where he was believed to be living when he died on August 12, 1899. It is not recorded where either of his wives are buried.
