Mary Ann Bucholtz, 60, of Port Hope, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010 at her home under hospice care, with her family at her side.
She was born May 26, 1950 in Harbor Beach to the late Jack and Margaret (Miller) Currie. Mary Ann and Gerald Bucholtz were united in marriage Oct. 14, 1972 in Port Hope. She started the Mary Ann's Beauty Salon in Port Hope in 1975. Mary Ann loved her family and especially her grandchildren very much.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Gerald Bucholtz, of Port Hope; sons Brian Bucholtz and his wife, Rose, of Bad Axe and Steve Bucholtz of Port Hope; four grandchildren, Emily, Drew, Natalie and Molly; brothers John Currie and his wife, Mary Jo, of Saginaw, Don Currie and his wife, Cindy, of Ohio and Rick Currie and his wife, Jill, of Metamora; sisters Karen Kohlruss and her husband, Chuck, of Holland, Janet Currie of Bay City, and Greta Yeskey and her husband, Dave, of Troy. Mary Ann also had a close friend that was like a second mom to her, Agnes Hunter, of Port Hope, and three step-children, Rich Bucholtz of California, Rod Bucholtz of Hawaii and Debbie Pratt of Bad Axe; step-mother Beada Currie of Birmingham and Bill Gadde of Troy.
Cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory of Bay City. A graveside service will be conducted at a later time in New River Cemetery.
