James Taylor Wood, Sr., of Shreveport, brother of Manton Wood of Winnfield, died Monday, April 3, 1972 in a Shreveport hospital following a long illness.

A native of Queen City, Texas, Mr. Wood had lived in Shreveport 35 years. He was a retired engineer for the Texas and Pacific Railroad Co.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, in St. Catherine's Catholic Church with Rev. Bernard Zagst officiating.

Interment was in Forest Park Cemetery.

Survivors other than his brother, Manton Wood, are his widow, one son, one daughter, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
