Enlisted from Stamford Aug. 6, 1862, bar-tender, age 20. Mustered in as Private. Wounded July 1863, Gettysburg, Pa. Promoted to corporal Jan. 1, 1864. Captured May 19, 1864, Welaka, Fla. and held at Andersonville prison. Paroled Nov. 18, 1864. Discharged due to disability May 27, 1865. Also participated in the Battle of Chancellorsville.
