Great Grandson Peter Gardner Hudson's notes held in family fles of Peter's half brother Bill:
"Came to Texas w/parents & Family in 1851 in Frio county (unorganized frontier) and up the Nueces River at the old "Cochina Ranch" where he saved his brother Peter's life in a famed Indian Fight. Volunteered and served in the Confederate Army. Moved to San Angelo area shortly after marriage and brought up family there. See ARDEN Ranch & Sherwood. "Alexander Franklin" name, obviously, came from the Stacy side, ie, his grandfather on mother's side." " Grave visited in 1994 by Hally Gardner & Peter Gardner Hudson. Grandmother Priscilla & daughter Sitola buried along side. Very simple cement marker. Effort underway to replace with suitable granite w/confederate flag to honor his Civil War service."
