Graveside services for L. A. Craig, age 75, will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the Shirley Cemetery in Eldon, OK. Reverend D.J. McCarter will preside. Services have been entrusted to the care of the Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah. L. A. Craig was born February 12, 1935 in Eldon, OK to Samuel Craig and Clona Yancy Craig. He was married to Earlene "Sammie" Doss on March 20, 1961 in Stilwell, OK. L.A. was employed at the Pillsbury Farm Feed Mill in Westville and had also worked at the Proctor grocery and post office. He was a veteran of the United States Army. L.A. was a minister for twenty years with the True Holiness Church. He loved to help others and enjoyed farming, taking care of horses and loved being with his family. L.A. was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, George and Sammy, and by four sisters, Clonie Craig, Ernestine Daugherty, Ahanawake McCaslin and by a infant sister, Marie. L.A. departed this life on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at his home at the age of 75 years. Survivors include his wife of forty nine years, Earlene "Sammie" Craig of the home; one daughter, Delena Goss of Tahlequah; three sons, Grant Craig and wife Sandra of Eldon, Terry Craig and wife Vickey of Catoosa and George Craig of the home; one brother, W.I. "Dub" Craig and wife Donnie of Proctor, OK; one sister, Bobbie Brinkley of Springfield, CO; four grandchildren, Megan Craig of Tahlequah, Zach Craig and wife Connie of Tahlequah, Morning Dawn Sierra of Tahlequah and Amicia Craig of Tahlequah; two great-grandchildren, Isabella Sierra and Addison Craig; extended family, Clint "Stoney" Hougland of Tahlequah, Zella Coldwell and husband Allen of Eldon, Wayne Coldwell, Gabe Coldwell and Jake Coldwell all of Eldon; Shirley Daugherty who L.A. and Earlene raised as well as numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
