Lovie Lavada Abbe, 96, passed away, Tuesday, July 10, 2001 in a local nursing home. She was a resident of Baytown for more than 60 years, a member of Memorial Baptist Church and a member of The Memorial Baptist Singing Saints. She was a Food Service Manager for Goose Creek Independent School District. Lovie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Hobson Abbe, daughter, Geraldine Abbe, parents, John N. Sanders and Ardella Dunn Sanders, sisters, Gladys Beggs, Maye Stanger, brothers, Edward Sanders and Thurman Sanders. Surviving relatives are brother, Wayland Sanders of Baytown; sisters, Thelma Hobbs of Baytown; Faye Wallace of Terrell; sister-in-law, Wanda Sanders, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Family will receive friends from 4 - 6 p.m. today, July 11, 2001 at Earthman Funeral Home. She will lie in State at the church for one hour prior to the service which will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2001 at Memorial Baptist Church Chapel, 600 West Sterling, Baytown with Dr. Mike Tignor officiating. Interment will be at Hill of Rest Cemetery on Lee Dr. Baytown. Pallbearers will be Robert Tyer, Robert Parker, Steven Sanders and Richard Hobbs. Arrangements are under the direction of Earthman Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, 281-422-8181.
