Kimsey Abbott, 55, of Dawsonville died Friday at his residence following an extended illness. He was a native of Dawson County, but had lived for many years in Alpharetta and Cumming before returning three years ago. He was Baptist and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Abbott, Dawsonville son, James Abbott, Dawsonville daughter, Kimberly Abbott, Dahlonega mother, Maggie Abbott, Dahlonega sisters, Betty Jo Palmour, Alpharetta, and Evelyn Burns, Cumming and five grandchildren. The family will receive friends all day Saturday at the funeral home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2003, at Concord Baptist Church. The Rev. Roy Bailey and Pastor Mike Owens will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Bearden Funeral Home, Dawsonville.
