Obituary --
Katherine Prouse Compton of Dadeville, MO departed this life on Thursday, December 4, 2003 in Dade County Nursing Home at the age of 92 years. She was born on November 28, 1911 in Beagle, Kansas to the late Dr. T.A. and Lula Stapleton Prouse. Katherine was a graduate of Greenfield High School. She was an active member of the Dadeville United Methodist Church and a member of the Rebecca Auxiliary of the Odd Fellows Lodge. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed her gardening.
Preceding her in death was the father of her daughters, Finis Morrow, her husband Ted Dickerson (married March 28, 1953, Greenfield, Dade County, MO) and her late husband Walter Compton; one daughter, Betty Hamilton; one brother Phillip Prouse and three grandsons, Claude Killingsworth, Jack McDonald and Richard McDonald.
Survivors include three daughters, Juanita Killingsworth of Dadeville, Louise Gentry of Greenfield and Louella Springer of Rye, Colorado; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Services were held at 2:00p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2003 in Bona Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Malaney officiating. Friends called at their convenience in Dadeville Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Dade County Nursing activities department or Community Hospices of SWMO.
Services were under the direction of Dadeville Funeral Home.
