of the Lewiston Daily Sun:
"Arthur W. Hobbs, 78, died Wednesday night at his home on Merrow Road where he had been living with a daughter, Mrs. Dora Card. He had been seriously ill about three weeks.
"Mr. Hobbs was born at Livermore, May 21, 1872, the son of Joshua W. and Eldora Bryant Hobbs. He was educated in Turner and Leeds schools. In 1897 he married Mabel A. Alden of Turner in that town and spent part of their married life at Leeds, Greene and Bath. For the greater part of their married lives they lived in Auburn.
At one time Mr. Hobbs was employed as a motorman at the old Portland-Lewiston Interurban and for a number of years by the Howe Barrell Co. of Greene and G. M. Tanguay stores of Greene and Auburn.
Surviving besides his widow are two daughters, Mrs Dora Card and Lillian McKinney, both of Auburn; a sister Mrs. Sadie Jennings, Leeds; three grandchildren, two nieces, two nephews and a number of cousins."
